Offa\’s Dyke Day 1

The day stearted with a quick wander around Chepstow. Till then it had been fine! We had done the first 2 miles the day before so we were picking up the trail from where we finished yesterday. So we crossed the old bridge out of Chepstow and headed up a steep climb. Unfortuntely the rain had already started, it wasn\’t cold, we had put on water proofs and were sweating heavily. As much water on the inside as there was on the outside. The rain lasted for about 3 hours in which time i\’d managed to have a fall, bruise me elbow and smash the screen of my Garmin computer. Afew miles later I discovered that I had dropped the map so had to go back about 800 yards to pick it up. Highligh of the day was watching a cormorant catch and swallow live a rather large river fish. Nice B&B but why do we always get put into the highest of rooms withe the steepets staur cases? The night was spent in Redbrook on Wye. A very friendly little village just on the english side of the border,
