Yorkshire Wolds Way Charity Walk

On June 16th four intrepid committee members, Steve Ross, Sam Blacker, Chris & Jo Nottingham  will set off to complete the Yorkshire Wolds Way over the subsequent five days.

This years Presidents charity is Macmillan Cancer Support. So many people are touched by cancer either directly or indirectly and either way it affects their lives in so many ways. Macmillan do outstanding work in supporting those people and as it is the TADAS President\’s charity this year it has been chosen as one of the two charities the walk will fundraise for.

The other charity is The Yorkshire Air Ambulance which has similarly helped so many people in our community.  Therefore, it too is a cause which the walk will support.

Both charities will receive the funds raised on the respective JustGiving Page and 50% of the funds raised by direct donations.

For those of you who know the walkers will realise that Chris and Jo are not the most naturally athletic people and so walking 79 miles over five days is indeed a challenge for them.  They are however, confident that with your support both of them can complete this challenge, especially as they are accompanied on the walk by Sam and Steve,  TADAS\’s experienced long distance charity walkers after they completed the 192 mile Coast to Coast walk last year.

When questioned, Chris Nottingham said \”We are already benefiting from their [Steve and Sam] guidance, coaching and motivation during our numerous meetings down at the Village Club and Bay Horse.\”

Should you wish to contribute, donations can be made in person to any of the walkers or on line via JustGiving at https://www.justgiving.com/teams/chris-and-jo-nottingham

Thank you in advance for your support towards what we believe are two very deserving causes.
