Wolds Way Day 5 (Filey here we come)

The last and another long day. To start with we had to travel 7 miles back (by taxi) from our previous nights accomodation to where we had left the route the day before (not much accomodation in this part of the world). This was quite depressing as we could see the route we would shortly be following fly by. It took nearly 2.5 hours to retrace that 10 minute taxi journey!

And that was when the rain started to set in, combine that with totally over grown paths and field borders and you soon get boots absolutely full of water! Not pleasant.

Myself and Sam rolled into Filey at about 3.30pm but we knew that this was going to be a hard day for Chris and Jo and sure enough they eventually made Filey nearly 3 hours later! We celebrated with champagne at the finishing point (once Sam had stopped crying) and had a traditional fish & chip supper in one of Fileys many fish restaurants.

Huge congratulations to Chris & Jo for their great endurance and amazingly upbeat attitude. Their fundraising page link is below.
