Sam Blacker thanked the committee, friends and supporters of the Tockwith & District Agricultural Society for their support and help during his year as show president. Sam was handing over the ceremonial crook to incoming president Stuart Coggrave at the 2014 AGM held last week at the Green Hammerton Village Club. Sam (on the right below) managed to raise around £5000 which was split between his two charities the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Society.
Stuart has nominated Macmillan Cancer Support as his presidents charity for the coming year. Click HERE to view the Macmillan website.
The society welcomed 3 new committee members (Jo & Chris Nottingham & Ed Bird) and also thanked retiring committee members (Peter Kirby, David Garritt & Mrs frost) for their work over the years.
The show also thanked the retiring treasurer Fiona Harris and welcomed in her replacement Malcolm Slinger. Fiona will be staying on as a general committee member as will retiring president Sam Blacker.
The 2015 show will take place on Sunday August 2nd. The society will once again run a car boot sale on the show field on the 4th May 2015 and a bonfire and firework display on November 5th 2015.
