Many thanks to Paul Chasney for driving us over to St. Bees and also to Lisa for the bottle of champagne. The day started with the usual dipping of toes in the Irish sea and the picking up of a pebble from the beach. The first few miles were along the spectacular sea cliffs before turning east and heading to the lakes. It has been a day of varying vistas, one minute the sea and the next the distant hills of the lake district. Weather has been great and we covered the 15 miles to Ennerdale Bridge with relative ease.
