Over the late May Bank Holiday weekend Stuart & Pam Coggrave held an Open Garden event at their house to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. This is Stuart\’s update.
We raised £1,950 over the weekend, a result we are very pleased with. We have a lot of people to thank – for the help before the event (baking cakes and supplying us with plants), for the help over the weekend and for the support of so many people coming.
We were delighted to see so many Show Supporters and I would guess, many \’Friends of the Show\’. We had a large attendance of Tockwith people and surrounding villages, some from Wetherby and York, The York Ramblers and even some holiday makers from Hartlepool. People were very generous – I think Macmillan is highly regarded.
We owe thanks to The Show Committee for the loan of the Marquee, the event would have been impossible without it. In particular I have to thank Mike Taylor who helped us with erecting and dismantling the marquee. No small task!
The food can\’t have been too bad as we had several visitors who came twice for lunch and a few came three times (no names mentioned).
Regards Stuart.
